Imagination or Logic

dark imagination

A deep dive into “The Instant Millionaire” by Mark Fisher

Chapter 7 – Obtaining the Faith You Need IV

The millionaire continues the lesson. The mistake you made wasn’t reading a threat that was fabrication, but believing in it. By doing so you instinctively obeyed one of the greatest laws governing the human mind. When imagination and logic are in conflict with each other, the imagination almost invariably takes over. Why would I have any reason to threaten you or have you killed, it’s just not logical.

The young man feels embarrassed about his actions.

As the millionaire said, when logic and imagination are in conflict our imagination normally wins. I am sure if you think about situations where you felt threatened or fear for your life, you will agree that the imagination runs wild. It is almost impossible to bring logic back into the thought process once the mind is going wild. The best way to control any situation would be to start off thinking logically, before you allow your imagination to take over. For most of us more than 80% of our thoughts are negative, why would you let your imagination take control?
