Chapter 13 – How much should I plan my life?

You have already taken the first step towards reaching your goal.

It was writing down the formula on a sheet of paper, with a quantified objective: an amount and a deadline.

For the second step, grab your diary/journal where you have already written down that goal. And on a new page start writing down everything you want out of life.

Your dream must be precise if you want it to take shape.

Here is an example of things that could be on the list – there needs to be a time frame for achieving these goals as well.

The following financial goals within five years.

1. A house worth $300,000

2. A second home at the sea side worth $150,000

3. A 1 year old Mercedes worth $20,000

4. A new BMW worth $30,000

5. No more personal debt

6. $200,000 in cash and other liquid assets

7. $200,000 invested in the stock market and other investments

8. $300,000 invested in property worth six times as much as at the time of purchase.

Now you may be thinking that is a lot to do in five years, but don’t allow your doubt to create fear that stops you doing anything.

Each of those goals above, should be broken down into finer detail for example.

A home worth $300,000, it will have five bedrooms with their own bathrooms, the lounge will have a huge fire place and I will have the following pictures on the walls the walls will be a eggshell colour. The lounge suite will be a black leather of the highest quality.

I can feel the heat of the fire as I settle into my comfortable leather arm chair to read before going to bed at night.

You should know what colour each room will be what your kitchen will look like, what your garden will look like, what the swimming pool will look like. As much detail as possible.

To get what you want you need to know what you want, down to the finest detail. YES, you will get it without going into the fine detail, but the when you get it, don’t say this is not the house I wanted – if you did not tell the man what colour you wanted, then you can’t expect him to know – Right.
