How Child Headed Family Sponsorship Works

There are more than 30,000 child headed families in South Africa – the mains reason being the lose of parents. But the state has limited resources and is not able to scratch the surface in this case.

The problem in a child headed family is that there is no income for the basic needs. Therefore the oldest of the children typically goes out every day looking for work or food so that he/she can feed their siblings which go to school.

This means that the oldest sibling, sacrifices their possibility of a decent education.

When you sponsor a child headed family, you allow the oldest child to get the needed education required to lift themselves and their family out of poverty.

Communities Need Partners

When we partner with a community, we create the circle of upliftment. We encourage parents and community members to become sponsors of education and work through the schools, to provide the best possible education for every child in the community. We also provide on going business, entrepreneurship and skills development training for members that would like to improve their quality of life.

Child Headed Family + Sponsor

We identify child headed families in the community, send a team member to find out the most urgent needs. And then go to work on figuring out the best way to fill the urgent needs. Our purpose here is to ensure that all the children in the home get a great education. To help the oldest sibling we find the means to provide food and the basic needs of the family. By doing this we allow the oldest sibling to complete his/her schooling, without the worry of his/her siblings starving.

How Your Gift Works For The Family

Your monthly gift to a child headed family is added to other donations in order to provide the basic needs of the children in a family. Your gift ensure that these children have a good meal each day and are getting the education they need to lift themselves and their family out of poverty.
